The Story - Stanley Open Art Group Project

 Was asked to lead a project for The Story, Durham and The Open Art Group in Stanley. The Stanley group went to The Story to look in the County Durham archives there. Researching the documents and images from the town and areas around Stanley, the group decided on making artwork inspired by articles from The Stanley News newspapers from the 1960’s

I spent 6 sessions with the group (March -June 2025). Fantastic watercolour and ink paintings and collages were montaged together and displayed on boards and stretched canvases.

A Day Exhibition Event held at The Story on 31st October 2025, when all the artworks were on display. In the long term it is planned to display the works on walls at South Moor Library, Stanley.

 I must start to record my arty adventures from the last 12 months or so.

I have continued to run my Art Monthly Well Being Group at Startforth Community Centre. Lots of great work created by everyone. Some examples below……..
